Biologically Informed Artificial Intelligence

Connecting disciplines to create new leaps in AI

Computer scientists, engineers, and those in the cognitive, biological, and behavioral sciences have much to offer AI. This group brings them together on the Illinois campus. As members find common ground, they hope to create new principles of computational intelligence and bring new tools and ideas to the behavioral sciences.

Machine intelligence can’t yet come close to matching that of humans.

So as the field moves forward, it makes sense that AI could be inspired through the behavioral sciences. The Illinois campus, with its strong research presence in computer science, engineering, and in the cognitive and behavioral sciences, is the perfect place to forge those connections.
