The Fall 2008 Beckman Institute Graduate Student Seminar series continues on Wednesday, December 3. The seminar will feature three short talks from graduate students
Brian Levinthal,
Greg Scott, and
James Lee. The seminar will be held in
Beckman Institute Room 1005 and a pizza lunch will be served.

Scott White is the co-chair for the
Second International Conference on Self-Healing Materials, set for June 28-July 1, 2009, in Chicago. The conference will cover topics such as self-healing polymers, microvascular systems, and self-healing coatings and paints.

The Beckman Institute will observe reduced hours during the Thanksgiving break at the University of Illinois. The Institute will be closed at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on December 1. In addition, the Beckman Café will be closed November 26-28 and will reopen December 1.
