William T. Greenough received his Ph.D. from UCLA in 1969. He is Swanlund and Center for Advanced Study professor in the University of Illinois departments of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Cell and Developmental Biology; and a full-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute NeuroTech Group. His fields of research interest are mechanisms of brain-behavioral development, neural mechanisms of learning and memory; restoration and repair of the developmentally damaged nervous system, neurobiology of fragile X syndrome, neurobiology of the aging process and plasticity of non-neuronal cells and systems of the brain.
