The Fall 2008 Beckman Institute Graduate Student Seminar series continues on Wednesday, December 3. The seminar will feature three short talks from graduate students Brian Levinthal, Greg Scott, and James Lee. The seminar will be held in Beckman Institute Room 1005 and a pizza lunch will be served.

ArticleImage Beckman Institute faculty member Fatima Husain is taking an original approach to understanding speech, hearing, and hearing disorders. Husain applies computer modeling and other techniques in order to study topics such as tinnitus, or ringing in the ears.

Beckman Institute researcher Scott White is the co-chair for the Second International Conference on Self-Healing Materials, set for June 28-July 1, 2009, in Chicago. The conference will cover topics such as self-healing polymers, microvascular systems, and self-healing coatings and paints.
