Todd J. Martinez received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994. He is an assistant professor in the U of I Department of Chemistry and a part-time Beckman Institute faculty member in the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics group. His fields of professional interest are chemistry involving electronic excited states, electronic structure of transition metals in biological systems, and ab initio molecular dynamics.
