Arnold O. Beckman
1900-2004
Arnold Beckman, our namesake and inspiration in countless ways, died in May of 2004, just a month after celebrating his 104th birthday.
Upon his death, the Beckman name could be found on five research centers, a multi-million dollar philanthropic foundation, and a billion-dollar company. Beckman inventions and company products ignited a scientific revolution and made life better for us all. The personal example Arnold set by living a life committed to excellence influenced thousands, from fellow researchers and businessmen, to his students and employees.
To those who knew him, Arnold Beckman was a brilliant yet humble man who always sought to bring out the best in others. Arnold the man will be missed, but he will live on through his ideals, philanthropy, and extraordinary accomplishments.
